Furkan Güven Taştan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. He completed his masters with the thesis titled “Protection of personal data in Turkish contract law”. He received his second master’s degree from Tilburg University’s Law & Technology program as a Jean Monnet Scholarship holder with the thesis titled “The (im)possibility of personal data as an object of contracts: An analysis of the GDPR and the Digital Content Directive“. Currently, he is writing his Ph.D. thesis titled “Conformity of digital content and services to the contract”.
He practiced and provided litigation as an attorney admitted in Ankara Bar Association. Now he is an academic staff of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law. His major areas of studies include civil law and information technology law. He is also an expert mediator registered in Turkey.
